Frequently asked questions

What is included in the Surkh Haldi Ceremony Set?

The set includes a peedi (ceremonial seat) with fatti, a hand mat, a thaal with velvet cover, two matching bowls, an oil bottle, and two applicators; all finished in deep red velvet with gota work.

What is a peedi and what is its role in the Haldi ceremony?

A peedi is a low wooden seat on which the bride/groom traditionally sits during the Haldi ceremony. They are the centre of the family's love and blessing. The fatti is the footrest placed in front of it. Together, they form the traditional ceremonial seating arrangement.

What is the hand mat used for?

The hand mat carries forward a beautiful family tradition. A rangoli is prepared with haldi and flour before the ceremony. After the Haldi rituals are complete, the bride's mother mixes it into a paste and leaves the imprint of her own hands on the mat.

Can this set be customised?

Yes. We offer customisation in colour, embroidery, and monogram across all pieces. Please reach out to us on WhatsApp to discuss your requirements before placing your order.

How far in advance should I order?

We recommend ordering at least 3–4 weeks before your ceremony date. For international orders, 4–6 weeks is ideal. Write to us at orders@pataaree.com if you need an express timeline.

Surkh Haldi Ceremony Set
ਮਹਿੰਦੀ · The night the bride is painted in joy

Her name hidden in the henna, waiting to be found.

The Mehendi night is the last night the bride is entirely her own. And the most beautiful one. Her hands are drawn in intricate patterns while her family sings around her. Hidden somewhere in the design is the groom's name, and finding it is the first game of their marriage.

The pieces in this set are made for that night. To be worn while the henna is still setting, photographed under fairy lights, carried into a room full of the people who love her most.

The deeper the mehendi, the deeper the love. That is what the aunties say, and the aunties are always right.
